Be Empowered – Advanced Coaching and Leadership Retreat

With Dr. Julian Norris, Laura Larriva Page, Rod Francis and Ronit leMon Drobey of the Bulletproof™ Training Institute.

Diving deep for ourselves, our clients and the world.

Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you Are not lost.
Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers.

As coaches, facilitators and as leaders, our awareness of our deeper selves and our true nature is a critical variable in our capacity to effectively catalyze and support change. The ‘outer’ work of trying to support a client or change a system will often amplify our own ‘inner’ tensions and assumptions, blind spots and paradoxes; our capacity to engage generatively with this tension profoundly shapes the nature of our subsequent impact in the world. A growing body of research (1) reinforces the importance of practices that cultivate deep awareness, interoception, self-knowledge, and the capacity for connecting to the source of our most creative intelligence as ways to help us meet these challenges and optimize our way of being in the world as coaches, leaders and as humans.

Be Empowered is a three-day immersive and experiential retreat program designed to reconnect us with these essential capacities and offer tools to bring them forth in ourselves, our coaching and into the wider social sphere. The retreat will be held at Elohee, a dedicated nature retreat center set in 220 acres of undeveloped land and nestled deep in the foothills of the stunning Blue Ridge mountains in North Georgia. Elohee ( EL-oh-HEE ) is a Cherokee word meaning “earth place.”

During the retreat, we will have a number of opportunities to show up with radical, embodied presence and encounter the wild world in a way that can be deeply powerful, surprising and transformative. The experiential group and individual activities will include deep listening practices, conversations with the wild, somatic work, dreamwork, mindful walks and nature-based artistic practices interspersed with competencies-based coaching skills sessions. There will also be personal reflective time to embody and embed the deep nature of this learning.

Activities/Outcomes:

  • Cultivate deep listening through interactive self and group work and by direct engagement with the natural environment.
  • Engage in facilitated dreamwork to encounter your essential self and enable transformation into the best version of you.
  • Experientially learn practices of embodiment and how to most effectively weave these into your own coaching and leadership.
  • Deepen your capacity for embodied presence and presencing throughout your life, work and coaching.
  • Connect with your true purpose, create project aligned with that and build supportive community to enact that in the world.
  • Radically transform your capacity for self-knowledge, interoceptive awareness and ability to engage with your deepest wisdom and voice of intuitive awareness and to use these in service of clients and others.
  • Engage with your radical truth through your deepest wisdom and intuition to serve others and your coaching.
  • Unleash your truest, wildest, most creative nature in the company of other like-minded mission-driven life artists. Learn how to bring your truest self and birth your core mission with the greatest impact in the wider world.
  • Consolidate this powerful learning experience into your coaching through structured facilitated engagement throughout the retreat and beyond.
  • 3 and 6 month accountability calls with your facilitators to maintain momentum and impact with your growth, coaching, work and project.
  • Gain 33.5 ICF CEU’s (21.75 Core Competency; 11.75 Resource Development).

Overview

Every leader – no matter how competent and outwardly successful – reaches a challenging point where he or she must pause and take stock of what matters most in life. Some may realize their external life has come with a steep inner price – perhaps the loss of connection to something vital. Some may feel stuck in a story too small for the person they sense they can become. Others face complex leadership challenges that require the cultivation of their own deeper capacities.

Foundations of Purpose uses a range of practices that support participants to explore and navigate this critical leadership threshold, and to reconnect with what poet David Whyte calls “your own truth at the centre of the image you were born with.” Tapping into their own deep creative intelligence and exploring profound personal questions will enable participants to clarify the next steps on their journey. The process will bring a renewed sense of meaning and purpose to participants’ work of leading and making change in these turbulent times.

What does the program offer?

  • Learn and practice the arts of deep listening, expanded awareness and skillful inquiry
  • Engage imagination and exploration of the natural world to track the threads of the deeper story that calls you to the next phase of your leadership journey
  • Explore the real world applications of models of human development and the emerging science of human potential
  • Generate new insight and possibilities using techniques drawn from the creative, expressive and somatic arts
  • Develop sustaining practices to align your actions and decisions with your singular purpose and internal commitments; quickly connect with and move from your most centered and skillful presence; and cultivate your own wholeness

Who should register?

Foundations of Purpose is designed for those who yearn to bring their deepest and most creative potential to their work, and who aspire to make a unique contribution to the world. The program will have a particular relevance for seasoned leaders and influencers who find themselves in transition, holding profound questions, or perhaps standing at a critical crossroads or developmental threshold.

Those who find themselves at the ‘edge’ of the stories that have sustained, defined, and empowered them will feel at home here. The program is not a good fit – and may be profoundly destabilizing – for those who want everything in their life and work to stay just the way it is.

The Red Thread Wild Gathering

We Live in a Wild Time...

A time where the shadows of modernity leave many of us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. And yet, just under the surface grows an almost unbearable longing for another way to live. The Red Thread Wild Gathering is an experiential, nature-based journey for women who are called to live and lead from the deep feminine.

Self

The Red Thread is for facilitators, coaches, healers, ceremonialists, change-makers, sacred activists, instructors, teachers, guides, creatives, and switched on leaders ready to make an impact through their presence, their passion, and their prayer.

Soul

This is for women who know that to catalyze change outside ourselves asks us to dive deeply within - to come to know through experience, your unique gift that flows into the world as the living waters of soul -  as nourishment for our time, place and people.

Sisterhood

This is for women who know we are who we are by nature of our relationship with everyone else - both human, and other-than-human. We grow and give within our webs of impact and significance.

Registration includes lodging (indoor or camping). Meals will be shared. Travel not included. Fee total : $500. REGISTER HERE.

Natural Rhythm - A Winter Retreat

Yoga, Food and Deep Soul Work with Anja Bergh, Heather Umlah and Laura Larriva Page

Location: Mundekulla in Småland.

When nature changes so do we. Feelings of belonging and understanding can arise from feeling yourself as the tree withdrawing its outer energy moving in towards the trunk and the roots. By listening deeply and moving with what has been heard, sitting with it and nourishing it in a natural and rhythmic way. May we attune our lives to the surprising gift it has always been ready to offer. We see this retreat as a week of relaxing into the mystery and allowing it to play the part in our lives it should. To create richness of experience, depth in perception and a vibrancy in our physical bodies.

We do this by gathering to share and practice together.

You are so welcome to join us!

Prices:

  • 9 500 kronor (double room with shared bath)
  • If you prefer another room type additional charges apply to be paid in cash at retreat center:

  • Single room private bath +1500 kronor
  • Double room private bath +1500 kronor for the room
